Staines and Egham Hythe (TW18)
The average price of the 352 properties that sold in this area in the previous 12 months is £399,000, bringing it in as the fifth most affordable location in Surrey.
It is 17 miles south west of Charing Cross and also close to the M25 motorway and Heathrow Airport. Staines has many parks, a football team and is all also home to many very large companies, so employment rates are good. Staines is also the fictional home of Ali G.
Redhill, Merstham, Nutfield, Bletchingley, Salfords and Outwood (RH1)
The RH1 postcode area comes in fourth place as the cheapest area to buy in Surrey. Of the 440 properties sold in the previous 12 months, it had an average property price of £395,000. This was an actual fall of 0.56% in the same period.
In respect of the main town Redhill, it is situated on the train route from Brighton to London Victoria and is also close to the A23 and to Gatwick airport.
Horley, Smallfield, Charlwood and Norwood Hill (RH6)
Coming in third as the cheapest area to buy in Surrey is the RH6 postcode. This large postal area has seen 405 properties sell in the previous year with an average cost of £384,000, which is a 1.44% increase in the same period.
Horley has its own railway station and is served by Southern Rail taking commuters into London. Two thirds of the town are actually commuters, half working in Gatwick and Crawley, the other half travelling to work in London.
Bagshot (GU19)
Second place on our list is Bagshot and the GU19 postcode. The average cost of the 73 properties sold in the year to date is £350,000. This represents a slight increase of 2.42% in the year.
It is based in Surrey Heath, close to the far more expensive Windlesham. The town has a population of 17,000 and has its own railway station (also used by its richer neighbours). Much of the land around Bagshot is owned by the Ministry of Defence
Caterham, Whyteleafe, Woldingham and Chaldon (CR3)
Coming in as number one on our list representing the cheapest place to buy property in Surrey is the CR3 postcode consisting of Caterham, Whyteleafe, Woldingham and Chaldon. The average cost of the 51 properties sold in the year to date is £318,000. This represents a slight increase of 0.49% in the year.
